I could really use some advice. I graduated 2000 then began a family practice residency. After 6 months I had to withdraw due to illness. It has taken this long to get well and know I can fully commit myself to a residency. i have taken all Steps and am awaiting my step3 score. I am not looking for anything special but I need a license to land the job in research, my main interest. My medical school deans office and the AMA have both advised me to apply for the Match. I guess this is the only way to complete a residency, or is it? Is there anything I can do to aid my return and obtain my license and a decent job? I saw several web ads for internships as a path to residency, what is your view of them? I am grateful for any input, thanks. Pie
