I am PGY-1 Pre Lim Resident 2008 - need help - usmlecrazy
#1
OK!...

I've scrambled into a PGY-1 (2008) Pre-Lim position in medicine. I know i need to be proactive for the next year. What should i be doing now so that i can have a stress-free transition on to PGY-2 (2009) (hopefully it is categorical)?

I want to remain in medicine more then likely pursue a Geriatrics Fellowship but all options are on the table.

Any advice is welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

hey dude ur best option is to do well in this year don't take it lightly let the people love you in ur program, either they gonna fi d u a spot in their program even offer them to repeat this year ,apply to the same program and tell the pd from now that u love the place, and love to stay, meanwhile go through residentswap, from now , next match apply for pgy-1 and pgy-2 in other specialoties like anesthesia, radiology, pmr, ortho, its tough but my sdvise is to keep an eye and put ur energy in this year
