I remember PDGF receptor , for example if mutated, can function as oncogene, but not PDGF itself. May be i am wrong.

Oncogenes are genes involved in growth promotion. Growth factors, their receptors, signal transduction pathways, and transcription factors are all part of this process. DNA mismatch repair genes assist in DNA replication.
