I am 53 year old and a medical graduate from Indore (India).
Which medical colleges are conducting research in Yoga in the USA?
I have a passion for Yoga and of late it is being increasingly used for prevention and cure of diseases and promotion of good health. I have learnt yoga and practiced for the last 20 years. I have also come out with some novel hypotheses that explain how the yogic practices can help in certain disease states, for example inducing hypoxia by pranayama can help in formation of coronary collaterals.
Another hypothesis is that ingested air can be shifted to the pyloric region and thus used to treat Helicobacter infection. My ideas and preliminary findings are published in the form of three books, 'Yoga Book for Doctors', Drink Air, Stay Fit', and Hawa Piyen Swastha Jiyen' all available on Google Book Search for preview.
I have passed USMLE step 1 and 2CK and am due for the step2CS.
I want to come to the USA for furthering my research in Yoga. When research is done at some reputed university it earns better approval throughout the world. Can I do medical research without first going through the residency training?
Can anyone guide me which university to apply?
