Radiation oncology and dermatology are the most competetive no doubt. When u see AMG applicants position ratio it makes sense for the above two. But pediatrics does not make sense.

These data are tricky to decipher. Any conclusions should run themselves by the actual match summary (linked in my report). Combined residencies are heavily represented amongst the most competitive. The pediatric-primary care programs were especially competitive in 2008.
uncombined Pediatrics (2,382 positions) had 3,485 applicants (1.46 applicants per spot) & ranks 29th on a list of 45 program categories.

Excluding combined residency programs from the list, we have
1. Radiation Oncology
2. Dermatology
3. Physical Medicine & Rehab
4. Neurology
5. Preventative Medicine
6. Vascular Surgery
