Any IMG interested in and applied to dermatology?

forget it . not for FMG....AMGs have problem getting in with scores 99/99/99,pass 1-st attempt

anything is possible, if you try. if you have strong letters from derm docs, 90s on both steps, dermatology publication in US, or strong dermatology research experience, and solid USCE, and apply to all programs in the US. It is low chance, but not impossible.

Make sure you have a back up specialty like IM or FM.

You need to have strong help from US MDs or your home country faculty who are very famous.

Hi, finally has someone into DERM on this forum.

I have two years experience in Derm back in my home country with the most famous dermatologist in my home country, and he wrote me a LoR, I also have 3 co-authered papers.

I will apply to at least 30 DERM programs.

I am excited to have some people here. I knew it's one of the most competitive specialties, but saw statistics somewhere there are few percent IMGs every year.

how many FM or IM programs did u apply as a backup?

my interests are derma and Neuro-Botox links both of them . so this year I am applying to Neuro as back up. otherwise to continue with my research for one more year. Have applied to few transitional year program.
