I was recently interviwed at a community program ( with univ affl ). I mentioned my desire to do fellowship after residency. ( I mentioned that in My PS too ) Then the interviwer told me that their program may not be right for me bec of my interest in Cards fellowship. But I also did tell them that I intend to have my own practice as an internist. This was my top choice program and now I feel I screwed up badly. I am really depressed. I just dont know what to do. No response to my thank you emails either. NO hopes for match. I am feeling really down.

maybe you are overqualified for this program, and pd realized this, so he told you what you wrote.
