can anyone explain digeorge syndrome symptomology - ddh112

How is it that a 2month old patient with digeorge syndrome can present with a normal t cell count, but a low b cell (cd 19) count?

For di-George - it can be partial or complete. Partial means that T cells can proliferate so some extent against mitogens whereas in complete they can't at all. Partial can improve in time. Low B cells can be because the T cells are impaired at proliferation to chemical signalling (mitogens) and therefore aren't capable of activating B cells to cause their release into peripheral blood (therefore their counts look low).
