that wasn't a q from a bank.. it was based on a kaplan Bun's physio dvd point... he exactly said that the PACO2 will be increased and the PAO2 will be also increased, but he didin't mention the Pa changes, but apparently, we all agree on them becoming higher after O2 adminstration...

in dr bunns lecture he said any ch copd pt never give 1o0% o2 b/c ch copd pt means co2 retainer . for them only drive for ventilation is o2 which stimulate peripheral receptor b/c co2 receptor in the cns are adaptive so never give 100% o2 b/c arterial po2 will increase with it & this will eliminate the ventilation derive by increase p02 receptor and this will lead to increase in pco2 and this will lead to intracellular acidosis. so always give supplementah o2 that not depresses the ventilation drive.
