According to "Iserson's Getting Into A Residency" 99' both parties might VOLUNTEER info to each other, if they desire so. But is is not permitted to ASK each other how they will be ranked. Chances for spontaneous contact on PD's behalf are slim.

email PD and express your interest in the program and say you will be ranking them highly.
