Hello there !

I have just given my Step 2 CS.I wonder if I could still apply for the 2009 match i.e residency beginning Aug 2009. My scores are not great Step 1: 76 and Step 2 CK : 82 Step 2 CS awaiting results. I am interested in Anaesthesia - I have finished my training in UK but wish to move across to USA - Could I expect some help and advice as to what would be my best approach to this so that I could be in time for 2009.

"given" your step 2 CS? do you mean "taken" meaning you just took the exam? or do you mean you have "given" the hospitals the results of your CS?

I took the exam on 7th Jan

Residency begins in July of 2009, not August. Unfortunately you have missed all the deadlines, and you will not be able to participate this year. Realistically you have to apply by October to have a chance.
You can go ahead and start working on your application and reference letters for 2010 though
