Both Osteoclast activating property but the source, mechanism and purpose are different.
IL1 is classic (estrogen inhibits) Source is Osteoblasts, PTH mediates IL1 stimulation to release Ca2+ In MM, the cause of multiple lytic lesions is IL6 mediated osteoclast activation. The source is malignant plasma cells.
