effect on IMG docs with new H1b visa rules??? - uk_dr

Hi Guys, do you think if there will be an effect on IMG doctors getting visas with the new bill passed in the senate to day/recently about companies who are getting bail out money not to sponsor H1b visas anymore to foreigners.
you think its gonna affect getting visas now???

Any one' s got any idea or predictions on whats gonna happen? Will it be tough to get visas for doctors too now on???

theres lot talk going on right now al over esp non medicos about almost impossible to get visas for them and in the news(in India and USA). Do u think its gonna affect us too in getting visas???

The legislation only affects banks who hire h1b's; unless your hospital is also a bank, you don't have anything to worry about

No, that is not the case.

It affects only those who come under cap of 85,000.


There is no cap for hospitals usually which means 99 percent of hospital wonot get affected et all.

I'll repeat it again for all the people who didn't understand, "The legislation only affects banks who hire h1b's; unless your hospital is also a bank, you don't have anything to worry about".

The banks who have gotten money under the TARP plan are the only ones affected; HOSPITALS ARE NOT AFFECTED.

our visa falls under non cap category.. so will not be affected... hope the present situation will not toughen the already highly competitive race to residency...
