There is Fe def anemia in SCDs absolutely, but this is not the most common type of anemia they have, extra vascular hemolitys anemia is their the most common type of anemia. As Rhodess has said increased RBC turn over put them in the risk of Fe anemia.

the poin here is USUALY they DO not have Iron defeciensy and do not usualy requare Iron suplementation.
But they do requare Folic suplementation |
