do we prophylax for surgery with asymptomatic VSD - bronchitis

why we have to do surgey in the first place for the asymptomatic

for example if somebody is doing surgery some kind of tooth problem or tonsils

Anytime a person is undergoing tooth surgery and have a congenital heart defect. you do prohpylaxis.

high flow defects reqiure prohpylaxis.....like ASD VSD TOF TGA only during procedures mentioned in d table of paeds kaplan notes..

but as 2007 AHA guidelines
five high risk cardiac defects regiure prophylaxis

1 uncorrected cyanotic CHD
2 coreected CHD with residual defect
3 previous IE
4 PRostheic valves
5 valvopathy in transplanted hearts

1 acqd AV disease
2 asqd MV disease
3 HOCM with latent/restin obst
4 pacemaker'
5 ICD
6 stents
