requirements for externship/observership - anie

Pls can any one tell me .. what are the prerequisites for observership or externship.. i mean passing CS is compulsory or you can get it even befor cs result....
I think this year match was disasterous for many of us.. this is the only hoped to increase our chances next year..

Of course this year's match is disasterous this year and other years....only 50% of IMGs get into residency......check all your statistics......its been disastrous all these years!
