i dont know if this is problem for you, but in my daily clinical practice i have been seeing lot
of women beeing abused.Are you currently been abused by any one in your personal life?every thing that you are telling to me will be kept as highly confedential...i really want to help you,can you share me your feelings to me?

tell that the law is with her side and hospital staff is with her...and if she fells emergency ask her to call 911

Couseling for Abused women:

- Ms.., your conditions will be treated appropiately, and all information will be kept confidently.
- No one has right to hurt you. I will be here to assist you.
- Your children should be cared for and kept safe.
- You should think about and do some preparation for the emergency plan.
- Would you like to speak with our domestic violence counselors?

Domestic violence:

You should not get very personal but at the same time demonstrate empathy and show that you are ready to help. You can say something like:

"From what you said I understand that at times you feel unsafe at your own home. That sounds very frustrating Mrs Smith. I am glad that you came to seek attention. If you ever need someone to talk with do not hesitate to call our office. No one has the right to hurt you and if ever you feel unsafe or are hurt you should seek attention from the police or appropriate authorities. And if you do not feel comfortable doing that you can always come to us for help and if you wish we could arrange for someone to go to the police with you. Does it sound reasonable to you? Also if you wish I could arrange for you to speak with our specialist counselors."

hey dont forget to ask SAFE GARD here in abuse cases,,
safety ,afraid of anyone , family or friend , emergency plan , gun at home , alcohol ,relation ship with hausband or spouse ,drugs and depression
