IMGs-Credible Guidance from the Program Directors - imginform
#1

When applying for a residency position in US, there could be no better person than a program director himself/ herself to tell you what they want from an IMG to be accepted in their program. You now have this rare opportunity to meet the directors in person and learn from them, first hand, what they are looking for in an IMG. Attend the upcoming seminar on August 8th at Kaplan test center, Baltimore, Maryland and hear what the PDs have to say about
-the precise information that needs to be provided in an ERAS application.
-the kind of personal statement that gets them excited enough to bring you in for an interview. How to write a culturally attuned personal statement?
-the framing of a letter of recommendation that would trump poor scores, lack of USCE or other limitations in an application
-the hoopla about USCE? Is it really necessary? Does it really improve your chances? The value of spending thousands of dollars to get USCE at a private practitioner's office.
-MOST IMPORTANTLY, how to interview? The directors will perform a mock interview with 9 IMG attendees, while others get to see and learn from this very powerful learning experience. An IMG never really gets to see how an interview is conducted; lucky ones get to experience one though. But then, how often do they get a feedback about their interview performance and how to do better next time.
