I think the Q'n is incomplet. But from what we have, who is your pt. here? The pt is the boy not the mother.

It is my belief that the answer is C. Here's why:

We all have seen the behavioral science questions involving "Freedom from coercion". I think that this could have something to do with that. Perhaps to really know what is going on with the child, you need him away from his mother. He can't tell you that he's doing drugs/sexing it up/ gangs/ his mother uses dildos on him etc. while he is under the 'coercion' of his mother. So I think that it is good to speak to him first.

A; the doctor should first see the mother and then the son; maybe afterwards, he can see them both to facilitate the communication.

how do u know for certain mahsa? or is it ur opinion? if both the boy and the mother are called in at the same time, it might rule out a frank discussion of what's actually bothering the boy... conflict resolution is not the first priority here, the boy is..
