risk factors for MI, CVA - umsulaym

Is there any particular order, we ll know ht, lipids, family hx, smoking and the rest of them but given all this factors and one is asked to pick the greatest risk... which one is for MI and which is for CVA?(infarction, bleed)
Came across couple of nbme que that asked this so pls responses appreciated, thanks.

for CVA, hypertension is the most consistent risk factor ..

for MI, i think it's hypertension too, but i would better check that for u ..

accroding to me...

For CVA ....HTN is gr8 risk factor....
For MI.....smoking & lipid levels are gr8 factor...!!!!

CVA..........HTN is the most imp as well as most prevalent risk factor unequivocally

CAD.......smoking is the most prevalent risk factor followed by lipid levels and HTN

But most important modifiable RF wud be control of RF that wud dec the development of CAD/ACS........the most imp in this aspect is LDL cholesterol followed by HTN and then smoking

Special attention to DM........considered a CAD risk equivalent so wud be most imp RF overall i guess....but glycemic control is not as effective as LDL and BP control to dec risk of development of MI

this is my take on this topic.........wud answer qs based on this knowledge and how the q is phrased......

Ok, thanks guys. I thought HTN for CVA as well but i wasn't sure about CAD.
