An infant is born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate. Previous studies have shown a concordance for this trait in monozygotic twins of 0.40 and in dizygotic twins of 0.04. The incidence of cleft lip and palate in the general population is 0.001.

If these parents have a second child, the risk for unilateral cleft lip and palate in that infant is approximately which of the following?

A. 75%
B. 50%
C. 25%

E. 0.1 %

D. 4 % or .04...been discussed b4. chance of second child having the same disease is same as that of a dizygotic twin.i.e. 2 embryo with different genetic material..and same parents. No calculations required
