Prematch for PGY-2, no internship - skidoc

I have gotten a prematch offer for PGY-2 but have only one interview for the preliminary year. The PD from the prematch program is going to write letters on my behalf. Is it worth applying to more prelim programs now or just hope that the one I interviewed at will rank me? Any advice?

skidoc - First of all my congratulations to you... but I am not sure how can you pre-matched for PGY-2 without going thru PGY1 and complete residency. I think we all need to do PGY1 to complete residency. Can you please tell us the process how did you get matched ? thanks,

Thanks jaiguru. Some programs e.g. anesthesia have advanced track (meaning that they start as PGY-2) after a prelim or transitional year. You go into match for each separately and hope that you match for both.

so wtpg pg y2 residency u got pre matched..
dont worry lots of pgy1 position sure u will get one in scramble last yr only 36 percent of prelim surgery spots got filled ..
