I don't understand the logic behind Increased ATP activating fructose 1,6-bisphosphatase. If there's already enough ATP, why are we making more glucose?

well it's liver making more Glucose not for itself.......this Glucose need to be send out to tissues which are low in ATPs.
-ATPs used in Gluconeogenesis is driven from beta-oxidation of Fatty acids.

glucagon,ATP -stimulats 1 ,6 bisphosptatase
fructose 2,6 bisphosphate,AMP-INHIBITORS, which is opposite incase of PFK-2

Sorry, I still do not understand.
It seems counterintuitive that ATP stimulate gluconeogenesis. Can someone come up with an explanation? Sarim, pls chime in, when there are ATPs, why do we need more glucose to make more ATPs? |
