haven't seen here for a while, hope you are doing well.

I have a q, do PDs usually call lor writers, the recommend letter writing persons, to verify my performance?

It might be a stupid q.

I will call if I am seriously considering a candidate or if I have a concern that the letter is from someone who doesn't exist. Ive seen some pretty good fake letters written by "people" who were un-contactable due to their lack of existence.
In a few cases have also reported my concerns of applications with fake letters or fake us degrees to eras.
