I have some questions regarding Preliminary positions. I am going to apply to IM and Psy, and don't need visa.
In programs with both Categorical and Preliminary, if I select both types to apply,
1. Do I have to pay for double? Does it count as 2 programs or just 1 program?
2. Do they lower the chance to be selected, because both types of training usually have the same PDs?
3. Is Preliminary more competitive than Categorical positions since many American graduate need it to get into other specialties later?
