B/c intestinal bacteria acts on the blood proteins to form nitrogen which is absorbed there4 raising BUN without affecting creatinine which can rise in conditions like renal failure,rhabdomyolysis.

I think other factors that influence it also, such as the fact that youre bleeding and the first organ that is usually affected is of course KIDNEYS

because bleeding results to a prerenal type renal damage wherein bun rises more than crea, hence bun crea ratio greater than 20 usually
