I remember the prof in Kaplan video said, the presence of heart murmurs in systolic or diastolic phase depends on the direction of blood flow. For example,
- aortic, pulmonary valves: normally, blood flow through these valves happens in SYSTOLE, so in the normal state, these valves must be widenly opened enough. If not -> stenosis -> systolic murmurs. (vice versa for regurgitation) - mitral, tricuspid valves: normally, blood flow through these valves happens in DIASTOLE, so in the normal state, these valves must be widenly opened enough. If not -> stenosis -> diastolic murmurs. (vice versa for regurgitation) Good luck.

in exame they always mention sites of murmurs in Q...so imp. to know sites

Systolic is Ms. As (Mitral regurg and Aortic stenosis ) --> Pronounce it Mr. Ass
Disatolic is Ms. Ar (Mitral stenosis and Aortic regurg) --> Diastolic is just flipped around of systolic !
