So guys, I need help with Proximal vs Distal Brachial Plexus injuries. This is what I think it is, but can somebody PLEASE confirm is this is right or not??
MEDIAN NERVE
Proximal Lesion: a) Decrease Wrist Flexion b) Ape Hand c) Thenar Atrophy d) Loss of DIP, PIP flexion
Distal Nerve lesion: a) Decrease function of Lumbricals- so instead of the normal function (flexed at MCP, extended at PIP, DIP), the patient will have extended MCP, flexed at PIP/DIP
ULNAR NERVE
Proximal Lesion: decrease wrist flexion
Distal: decrease lumbrical function (pt presents with extended MCP, and flexed DIP, PIP)
