Antibiotics disrupts which phase in the Bacterial growth curve

A)Lag phase
B)Decline phase
C)Exponential phase
D)Stationary phase
E)Death phase


pls explain in few words

I would imagine that it depends on what kind of agent your using to treat. if your using a bacteriostatic agent, i assume it would prevent the exponential phase from occurring, where as if your using a bacteriocidal agent it would increase the death phase with a sharp downward spike. so I would say C (Bacteriostatic) and D,E (bacterocidal). because at the lag phase you arent even showing signs of a bacterial infection, where as with the stationary phase i would assume that's when you start your Antibiotics and leads to the "death phase" If i had to chose one I would chose C.

(a friend had this question in his real exam today)

ok,thanks every one but we got stuck between options C & D.
i actually want to know the option with the little info provided;i believe theres a catch somewhere since they didnt say the type of antibiotics.
