How to improve NBME scores - studyforcs

Hi everyone,

I took NBME form 2 and got 360 in Feb, when I finished CK books, Archer theory &CCS lectures, did UW qbank twice and MKSAP once. Because of low scores, I postponed my exam until June. During this time I reviewed all materials, practiced more CCS, repeat UW qbank and MKSAP one more time. Today I did NBME form 1 and my scores stays exactly the same, 360. Even though I have enough time to review everything and feel confident both in theory and CCS, I am very scared to go for the exam with this score. My exam will be in 2 days and I feel very frustrated. I have no choice but to reapply and have to take the exam in month because after which I will be very busy. Please advice what I need to do differently to improve my scores?

I think you should not do ck books again, try to do as many questions as possible, that improves your memory and understanding of theory. revision and repetition of u world helped me a lot. check out the usmle cd 3 blocks and make a list of important topics, and prepare them very well. u will know what is high yield, i am not sure about MKSAP so i cant comment on that, but I personally studied jason for my weak topics. I dont recommend to start a new book , rather revise the q banks again and again, read their explanations. Try to prepare ob/gyn,peds, psych and surgery very very well because they are comparatively short subjects, and you can score really high in them and bring the medicine up like above borderline, i mean like 60%, this will help you a lot. good luck

Regarding usmle cd 3 blocks, you mean 3 blocks on USMLE.org website, right? or there is a cd for questions.

I had the same problem and got 320 in both parts after 3 months gap.I am again doing ck kaplan and want to do uw and all the remaining stuff, once i am done with this kaplan notes
