PUD Sx ..PPI or Scope first? - scatteredbrains

Sx suggestive of PUD..do you give a try with PPI first and see if there is a response? or do you go for endocopy and Bx with H.Pylori testing as your initial step in Mx?

u only scope if there are alarm findings: age more than 50, dysphagia, positive occult blood, weight loss.. etc.. otherwise, empirical therapy

But if the pt is young and with no typical alarm Sx ..you put him on PPI and he comes back later saying there is no improvement..then that is an indication to, at that point, scope him..right?
