why is FM not attractive? - roiter
#21
dear doc apurva,
money is low in IM too..digest it..unless u want to be an interventional cardiologist...that seems like your cup of tea...and goodluck. "fp is just like 3 more yrs of mbbs minus the surgery part" is offending because it implies my next 3 years will be zilch. But ofcourse, I respect ur freedom of speech. you are smart, but u are also correct, I am more smarter. The medical system back in your place and mine is down the sewer, because of harboring such notions that primary care medicine isnt important, which u amply exemplify. When u are comparing smartness, i sense ridicule, rather than a sense of understanding. I wish you luck, but also pray for ur change.

dear bailey - my friend - i wasnt ridiculin any1. u seem to have mistaken my notion

money is low in im - well www.salary.com says somethin different

and maybe the health care in our countries has gone down the sewers for lack of fellowship opportunities and frustration in bein saddled in a primary care setup for life? if we are all interested in primary care - we cud have stayed at home and worked in rural areas..

may god bless the primary care ppl

i ll take the devil on anydaySmile

I think the point is not saying something is better than other thing but the point is doing something that suits you and doing something where you will be satisfied..Definitely specialists are better because they study 3 more years and they earn more...definitely it is better for those who are really interested and confident to do that...community needs specialists and primary care physician too...

I think you have to do something that suits your need..how you want to live life...if you think that you will be satisfied in something that is enough..roiter seems to be really confused...THink about yourself and make your own decision...dont choose something only because most of the people are doing so...

regarding Drsur...you are in tricky situation..It again depends on what you want to do..If you have plan to go back to your country then you have to be specialist..if you want to stay here and earn some money i think u need H1B visa and green card too..
