It says that Th cells are not involved, but yet they say MHC 2 on APC binds to T cell. And it can't be CD 8 T cell as that uses MHC 1. So are they talking about the regulatory T cell?
What do they mean by **Th cells are not involved**?
--------------------------------FA immuno
Effects of bacterial toxins
Superantigens (S. pyogenes and S. aureus)—cross-link the β region of the T-cell receptor to the
MHC class II on APCs. Can activate any T cell, leading to massive release of cytokines.
Endotoxins/lipopolysaccharide (gram-negative bacteria)—directly stimulate macrophages by
binding to endotoxin receptor CD14; Th cells are not involved.
