Because the null hypothesis turned out to be right. This is a type 1 error.

Type 1 means rejects the null hypothesis which is true.

That is good. But it is not very easy to determine what exactly the null hypothesis is.

TYPE ONE ERROR REJECTING NULL HYPOTHESIS WHEN IT IS TRUE
IF THEY HAVE SAID PARACETAMOL DOESNOT CURE COMMONCOLD AND YOU HAVE ACCEPTED IT THEN IT BECOMES TYPE 2 ERROR
NULL HYPOTHESIS IS THE HYPOTHESIS OF NO DIFFERENCE . AS A RESEARCHER YOU DO NOT LIKE TO PROVE NULL HYPOTHESIS YOU WANT TO PROVE ALTERNATIVE HYPOTHESIS
GO FROM THERE YOU CAN REACH SOMEWHERE IN RIGHT PLACE IN THESEQ

Whenever you see a q like this, decide what happens if the experiment fails. That is the null hypothesis. Work from there.
