I have heard that we can use Neurology or internal medicine LOR for psych and family medicine ; is this correct ?

Hi nbavar,

Some of the programs do accept and take in consideration a letter of recommendation from a neurologist.
Not sure about family medicine and medicine though.

You can use LORs from any speciality, but make sure the content is not specific for any particular speciality. Its not as good as the letter that comes from a faculty of same speciality but it definitely helps.

I don't see why not. I'm in the same boat, wondering if neurology LOR helps IM residency application
