Hi med02.
Sorry for the delay

Pb poisoning has at least 3 effects: Proximal tubule cells are affected and demonstrate acid-fast inclusions; urate nephropathy (and gout) because of increased reabsorption and decreased secretion of uric acid; and chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis.

Yes TY Psych Smile I also forgot to mention other Nephrotoxic causes (PT affected) of Acute Tubular necrosis besides Lead

Ethylene Glycol, Radio Contrast Dye, Urate (Tumor Lysis Syndrome), etc.

So in Review:

ISCHEMIC CAUSES of ATN ie sepsis, shock, Hypovolemia, etc. Affect ONLY PT (Straight Portion) and TKAL (Medullary Segment) also same parts with shock too!!!! hint hint

NEPHROTOXIC CAUSES of ATN ie Drugs/Chemicals, Crush Injury, Toxins Affect ONLY PT
