The basic pathology in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is inherent hypertrophy of the left ventricular muscle wall. The RV may also be affected in some cases.
Because of that, the stroke volume, and cardiac output, in these patients, will be compromised. Diuretics exert their action by reducing volume or preload. This means that they reduce the "outflow gradient" and "ventricular volume." Therefore, they may be used "with caution" in patients who have no obstruction of the outflow tract. But they are mostly contraindicated in those with the obstructive variant because they can worsen the effect of the already-existing obstruction. Hope this explains it.

if you dont mind can u please explain why acei and arbs are contraindicated in HOCM...

ACEI and ARBs are also contraindicated for the same reason, because they reduce the preload and therefore can worsen the effect of the obstruction.
You are very welcome
