How would you differentiate between the two?

well their preceding history will be different with penetrating trauma or surgery for endoph and the level of severity in endopth is to a greater degree with ocular pain, conjuctivitis, decreased vision, loss of red reflex. and even with vancomycin and ceftazidime and steroids, it will most likely end in enucleation.

ant uveitis is those symptoms to a milder degree and no loss of red reflex and has floaters. treat with steroids. no bacterial causes whereas staph aureus and epidermidis cause endopthalmitis. no enucleation.
