regarding unattended attempt of step1 - drs4s

Hi everyone,

I am img from india. Can anyone please tell me about unattended step1 exam? I extended my eligibility period and not planning to take step 1 in that period. So will that be counted in total no of attempts for step1? Will that affect my residency programs? Inorder to apply for matching in 2016-17 when should i finish step1,2ck and cs? Plese do reply.

No , just cancel any appointments if you have taken at the centre.

For match usually the deadline is in fall time frame August to september each year .Plan to finish by July because ECFMG certificate takes upto 4 weeks ( as read on the forums) .

Step 1 is the lengthiest and most challenging .discipline yourself now or this 2016-17 deadline can easily be 2020 deadline .Do not book exam until you have taken NBME and know you are in the 3-4 month zone of preparation.
