Do a research experience in radiation oncology count towards getting a surgical residency ???

Will your research lead to contacts with surgeons who can write stellar LoRs about your interest in their field and possibly if you are lucky pick up the phone and call a few programs for you

it probably won't, but better than sitting at home if you got nothing else
