Should I contact programs to ask for interview ?? If yes , is it better to call or send an e-mail ??

if everyone did that imagine how chaotic things may get and aggravated programs may become ....

Let's put it this way:

My classmate who attended match last year (230s/240s/YOG 5/USCE/3US LOR), was in a similar boat as you, silence everywhere. He called 2 programs of the 100s he applied.
One of them said his application is under review and they haven't gone through it!!!

Because he called, they assigned someone to review his application ASAP and granted him an interview. He matched there and the PC apparently said, if he didn't call for a review, they would have filled all the IV spots before they got to his application.

So if you really want to show interest in a particular program, CALL, give them your applicant ID number!

This was in October-November 2014.
