An otherwise healthy 40-year-old woman comes to the physician after noting a few drops of yellow discharge from her left nipple while performing a breast self-examination 4 days ago. Fluid can be expressed when she squeezes her nipple, but there is no spontaneous discharge. Breast examination shows no masses, and mammography shows no masses or calcifications.
