#1
A 37- year-old-woman visits her physician complaining of blurred vision and pain with movement of her right eye. Her past medical history is unremarkable. Pupillary examination shows right afferent pupillary defect. Visual acuity in the right eye is 20/200 while in the left eye is 20/20. Fundus examination is normal. MRI of the brain shows one periventricular white matter lesion. Her visual symptoms improve after administration of methylprednisolone. The patient is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She is scheduled for follow up visits every 6 months to monitor the development of her condition.

What should be done to monitor the development of multiple sclerosis?

A- Physical examination only

B- Visual evoked potential study

C- MRI of the brain

D- Nerve conduction study
