English your 2nd lanuage? Prep early for CS exam! - lec
#1
If English is your second language, the Clinical Skills section presents several challenges:
1. Speaking fluent, comprehensible English,
2. Mastering the skills of appropriate facial expression and eye contact, and
3. Remembering everything you need to do and say in the correct order.
All three of these skills must be used simultaneously. Speaking fluently is the most important and, depending on your skill level, may be the most challenging. If you cannot communicate clearly, you won’t pass this section. Acquiring proficient English speech doesn’t happen overnight. SO, THE EARLIER YOU START, THE MORE SUCCESSFUL YOU’LL BE! Then you can focus more attention on improving the other two skills.
