I agree with usmleexams 10. This is the prime time for us , IMGs. programs usually look at the IMGs application around this time(inside information). I will hold at least 3 weeks from now , before contacting programs.

yes. it is time to email programs. but you should email them something specific so you don't look like you're just on a fishing expedition.

If you want to maybe find out what your application status is or whether any interviews have been given, then it probably won't hurt to contact the programs. But don't use it as a way to try to get an interview. The PCs and PDs already got more than enough work to do, and the last thing they'd want is a desperate, self-centered caller begging for an interview. If they don't want to interview you then there's nothing you can do about it. Period.
