Email of support from Mentor to programs - p16positive
#1
Is it helpful if mentors/supervisors (who wrote LoRs for one's application) email programs (where one interviewed in) to consider ranking the applicant? (i.e. email the PD and PC)

Any experiences? I appreciate the feedback in advance.

Cheers and good luck!

That would be a match violation.

Depends on programs. I have programs where i interviewed the Pd is good with mails and replies.others dont entertain or reply any emails.

I asked two of my mentors to write to the pd and he replied their emails and asked for more information about me.

I guess it depends on program to program .

That is not match violation. It is an add-on to your LoR. You can do it if your mentor is friendly. Good luck.

If your mentor already wrote an LOR, there is really no need to also have them e-mail. This is a very busy and stressful time for programs. Our program would not look kindly on this type of communication.
