Q. Postpartum urinary incontinence tx - geniusone
#1
First line management is analgesic and recommendation of early ambulation.
If not resolved, urinary catheterization should be done to relieve bladder distension.

WHEN do you decide to catheterize? Is there a time limit or is it based on presenting severity of symptoms (fullness, tenderness)?

UW has questions with both answers.
BUT explanation also mentions that catheterization is indicated for diagnosis and treatment.

Do we NEVER OBSERVE and always catheterize?
