depend on what type of rotation you plan for. clinic rotation or hospital rotation. giving yourself a range of $1800 - $3000 per month externships is reasonable measure.

From a PC - Do not waste your money! Most programs skim over an observership LOR, as they are all standard letters and the observership itself holds no weight for programs when review an application.

Sorry @smartpc, I don't quite understand you. Are u trying to say that observaship and Externship are the same or that both are not valuable.
