The ans *D* is Clozapine/Clozaril 2nd that painted in stem Q generation “Atypical” antipsychotics. Routinely regarded as the single most effective drug of all Atypical & typical antipsychotic we got> & very effective in the treatment of resistant schizophrenia pat.
Why don't we use it all the time?
It has the highest metabolic consequences (i.e. weight gain…) & ↑seizure risk. The one you all need to be worry about/most concerning (small/rare ~1-2% pat but important) of which is “AGRANULOCYTOSIS”
The pat ALL WBC depleted -> infection & even death (monitoring/pat already noncompliant
& death that’s why is never 1st line of treatment schizophrenia despite its peerless efficacy. U only gone use it if other fails.
That’s why we do weekly CBCs required. You see WBC! No more Clozapine.
@goli12The lifetime prevalence of schizophrenia I think ~ -0.3-0.7 % the sex ratio differs in samples populations. Just know & fix your FA
