pupillary light reflex... doubt - halux
#1
The FA17 p509 shows that the Temporal Retinal fibers that receive light from the Nasal field end at the Lateral Geniculate Nucleus and do not reach the Pretectal Nuclei at the Midbrain.

- OTHER IMAGES FROM VARIOUS SOURCES show that these fibers reach the Nuclei at the Midbrain.

- Based on the image of the FA17 p509, then if the light is shined to the Right Eye, the Left Pretectal Nuclei (who is reached by the Right Nasal Retinal Fiber and the same thing happens with the Left side...) is stimulated. If a damage to the Left Pretectal Nuclei happens, then Light to the Right Eye will not lead to Miosis of both Right and Left eyes. Light to the Left eye will result in Miosis of both eyes.

- Based OTHER IMAGE SOURCES, both Fibers from the Each eye reach both Pretectal Nuclei( Right Nasal fiber reach the Left Pretectal Nuclei and the Right Temporal fiber reach the Right Pretectal Nuclei.
>>>If a damage to the RIGHT PRETECTAL NUCLEI when light shined to the RIGHT EYE, then the Right Temporal Fiber that reaches the RIGHT PRETECTAL NUCLEI info is blocked and no Miosis of both Left and Right eyes occurs.

- Can someone clarify me that please? now I'm confused... (-_-)
